Wright Brothers Construction Headquarters
Star, ID
Early in 2022, Glancey Rockwell and Associates was commissioned to design a new 20,500 square foot, three story office building for the headquarters of Wright Brother, the Building Company. The construction company had procured a lovely 2.3 acre site in Star, Idaho to bring commercial businesses to the Boise, Idaho suburb.
They also wished to show off their construction skills so they advocated for the Design Team to use high efficiency and high quality, durable materials and show off their design skills. The steel building is skinned with insulated sheathing and clad with brick, stone and metal siding. The building program and window locations reinforce the energy efficiency by reducing the amount of south and West facing glazing.
The building has both open and private offices as well as conference and meeting rooms ranging from groups of three to a large training room that can comfortably accommodate forty people. The east wall of the training room is a foldable partition that opens into a recreational space allowing the organization to open up the two spaces and provide space for eighty employees as needed. The third floor executive meeting room is almost entirely glass with spectacular views of the Owyhee Mountains to the Boise Foothills.
